Preparing for the Holiday Week . . .

Picture

We are preparing for a Holiday week in celebration of Independence Day on July 4th.  This is always one of my favorite times of the year.  I love the summer, fireworks and being with my family at the beach.  That's been what we have done for as long as I can remember.  When I was young, we would have grandparents and aunts and uncles together at the beach.  Then our family of four grew over the years as my brother got married, I got married, my nephew was born and then my three boys came along.  Whatever might happen with everyone's schedules it was always fairly certain we would come together over the July 4th Holiday at the beach.

I know lots of folks get together to celebrate this Holiday in style. . . food, drink, fireworks, being out doors, being together.   Especially now with the importance of our armed forces and veterans in all of our lives, what better way to show honor than to have a day specifically dedicated to our country's freedom!  I'm wishing a Happy Holiday to you all!

I will be taking a few days off from posting here while away for the week.  We will be getting together with family, but not at our traditional beach spot.  I'll be back where there is no internet access, I'm de-plugging again, but for a whole week this time.  Let's see how that goes!
I will be checking in on my Facebook page, Marla-Deen-Fit so come for a visit!

From this time last year until now there have been many changes affecting me and my family.  Even after almost a year it is still a struggle to grasp things that God has thrown  my way.  While I did not want to re-cap last year's Holiday, I want to at least acknowledge it as the anniversary approaches and because I  did share it here .  This space has been so therapeutic for me, as have all of the support from friends, family and strangers alike.

Here are a few of the things that I have learned over the past year.

I also find something every morning to begin the day with peace from this:

So, wherever you are and whatever you are doing during this 4th of July Celebration I hope you have a wonderful time with family and friends and hug all of those around you!  I hope you have fun, make memories, make stories and tell stories!

And remember to comment on yesterday's post for a Frog Fuel Giveaway!!

What are your summer traditions?  Fourth of July traditions?  Do you love fireworks, hate them, afraid of them?
