A New Month in the New Year . . . checking in

It's February 1st.  How can that be?  I feel a little like  my grandmother when I make comments like that, but I get it now.  I'm not really sure where the month went and what exactly I did with it.  When it dawned on me this morning that the first month of the year has officially passed I thought it's time to check in with the New Year Intentions that I so well meaningly set out for myself.  It feels like a really long time ago I wrote those down!  But here we are a month later and it's time to either forge ahead feeling some of the benefits of our intentions or resolutions or take a gut check and reaffirm where we want to head for the rest of the year.As always, I just view myself as a work in progress.  But progress is progress.  Even if we are only making a baby step each day or even if we slide or slip up, as long as we can get back on the path and put one foot in front of the other, then we are moving forward.  If we are moving forward then we are in the right spot.If folks made a lot of get fit or start exercising resolutions for the new year, I haven't Gym Resolutionsseen as many of them this year as I have in the past.  I was talking about this recently with another spin instructor.  He noted he hadn't seen the huge swarm of people that normally frequent his classes in January.  I've noticed the same in the gym.  Normally, in January I tend to stay away during the peak hours because it is so crowded.  While I have had several new faces in my classes this month, and I've loved meeting and seeing these new folks, I haven't seen the usually January crowds this year.  I'm wondering what that's all about . . . .Not only is today the first day of February, it is also Superbowl Sunday.  I'm not gonna lie.  For some reason, this is my least favorite "event" of the year.  I actually admitted that to The Husband last night and I'm thinking he was a little incredulous.  I can't even explain why I don't get pumped up for this football game.  Of course, I do like the football_superbowl_divorce_judge_1025695commercials, but all the hype and hoopla on a Sunday night doesn't excite me.  Very un-American, I know.  So, while most of the other healthy living sites are giving you healthy Superbowl snacks to serve to your friends, I have nothing new and creative.  You can check out some tasty ones I've served before HERE.  And they ARE tasty!  You can also check out my PINTEREST BOARD here on the blog under the Foodies and Feel Good Foods Boards for some great ideas. If you are looking for something special we've added a new SEARCH button, too.  You can search for any topic or recipe from this new site, but all content from my old www.Marla-Deen-Fit.net site has also been integrated.Another fairly new thing on this site is the Subscribe button.  Sooooo, just hit Subscribe and have content come straight to your Inbox! That's all for now.  I hope you are having a great Sunday and fun Superbowl time! How you doing on your own Resolutions or Intentions?  Fun Superbowl plans?  Do you go all out or rather watch without the crowd?  Stay tuned for my ClassPass review . . . if you have used it and have any feedback please share with me in the comments below or shoot me an email at marladeenbrooks@gmail.com!Enjoy your day!Signature 478-small-things-cartoon
