Comfort Food, Get Over the Weekend Workout and Thanksgiving Shares
Once again it is a Monday and it is raining. I mean really raining, pouring, nasty, foul weather kind of raining. I showed up to lead my 50 minute group training class and wish I had prizes to give to the women who swam through the downpour to come work out with me! I am amazed and so thankful* for them!We did a great timed workout, which I will share, that kicked off a post Halloween, Football, and whatever else fun celebration weekend folks might have had. We did some intervals, weights and tabatas. Stay tuned if you want to give it a try!As it is November 1st (how can that be?) I wanted to share a great idea by fellow fitness lover Michelle Myers. She has a wonderful faith based fitness ministry and I have loved following her on Instagram for her inspiration, wisdom and positive influence. She has come up with a Thanksliving Journal for November as a way to help us stay mindful of our blessings, being grateful and the Thanksgiving Season. What a great idea! And even better is that it is FREE! Check out SheWorksHisWay to get a peek at what she's about and download your OWN copy.I am also wearing one of her crosstrainingcouture workout tanks this morning. It's a great reminder that we are working out to be strong for life, not just to look a certain way in that tank!I have been sharing Weekly Meal Plans on some of these Mondays, but don't have my whole week outlined this time. The Third Son has a birthday to celebrate this week and he always has a tall food order for me (Remember the Beef Wellington??), we have a wrestling meet and a couple of other commitments this week so I am taking it one dinner at a time. Since it looks like this outsideI am planning on the perfect comfort food tonight. One of my all time favorite meals as a little girl was Chicken and Dumplings. So, that's what is on the menu on this rainy, dreary Monday. Check out the recipe posted earlier by me HERE. I love using pre-made dumplings that you can get in the freezer section. My all time favorite are Mary Hill Dumplings. If you check the small print you will see that they are made in my hometown. Yep, they are made in Hazlehurst, GA and you can get them right here in Atlanta! I love the top left hand corner banner that reads "Yes to Dumplings, No to Drugs". You tell 'em Miss Mary!!On to the workout. I used this basic template in both of my classes this morning, throwing in some cardio moves like jump squats, burpees, suicides, tap ups, and jumping jacks depending on my group and space. It was a good wake up, start the week, get your heart rate up workout. If you overindulged in the Halloween candy this is just for you! I will say I was a bit sad to not have the young children, craziness of Halloween, but the beauty of older children is no leftover Halloween candy lurking in the home! I didn't even get a mini size Almond Joy this year, which is my favorite):
