SUMMER READING! Part One . . .

images-1If  you have been around here you know I often write about books and if you know me and talk to me, you know I also love to talk about books.  I've been devouring books lately by sneaking reading time into any free nook and cranny I can squeak into my day.  I typically have a book on my Kindle, a book on my nightstand and an audible book downloaded on my phone.  I love to ask folks what they have been reading, what they are currently reading and what they recommend. In places like airports or on the beach I'm one of those nosy people that takes a peak at what you have your nose stuck into.  I might even approach you and ask if it's good.  I spent the past glorious week at the beach doing lots of reading while getting far too much sun and taking lots of walks up and down the sand spying on what books people had in hand.I've read and listened to some really good books lately - some for pure entertainment and others with a little more meat.  Never to waste your time, if I don't feel it's worth sharing, it doesn't make the list. Here are some of the latest reads:We Were the Lucky OnesThis is a beautiful story that I loved learning was based on true lives. The Tea Girl Of Hummingbird LaneI've loved every book I've read from Lisa See!Yellow CrocusI love a story of brave women. The Gift:  The gripping psychological thriller everyoneI picked this book because the main character had a heart transplant.  My father also received a heart transplant so I've always been interested in the topic but haven't seen many writings on it.Heart of DarknessSomehow I got through highschool and college without reading this classic.  The Second Son had to read it this year and brought it up in conversation.  I'm always looking for subjects to discuss with my sons, even if it means reading dark, creepy books taking place in the Congo! The Stars Are Fire:  A NovelI learned some history reading this and loved the strong and brave main character. The Marriage LieThis was a little fluff but had enough mystery to keep me turning the pages.A Fall of MarigoldsThis is a lovely story tying the past with the present. The Vanishing Year:  A NovelThis is a suspense novel that had me going. And Then She Was GONEThis book came up on a Kindle flash sale and I didn't know it was a series, but it was entertaining. That's enough for now.  I'll save the audio books for the next post!  Stay tuned!Enjoy Your Day!Signature
