Painless Changes for Big Results

When working with client on their nutrition I've found there are typically two kind of folks.  There are the folks who are generally doing all the good, healthy stuff, but aren't able to quite meet their goals or feel completely free in their choices.  Then there are the clients who have been enjoying all the fast food, burgers, fries, cookies, fried foods and all those things and are completely overwhelmed by a complete overhaul of their diet. Then, of course, there are folks who straddle the middle and flip flop between being the healthy eater AND the junk food junkie.Either way, I can usually suggest some simple, painless swaps that are not too drastic, make sense but do give a big boost in what foods are feeding their bodies.  Simple, painless swaps can go a long way to making you feel better which can also go a long way to boosting confidence in the whole healthy journey and mindset. Here are some simple things that you may try.If you are a cracker muncher - which I confess I am.  I love the crunch - then try swapping for a high fiber cracker made with chia and flax.  OR my other favorite swap - radish slices.  These give you the same crunch and texture but also give you more water and fiber to fill you up.If you love your potatoes - try cauliflower instead.  Mash or roast the cauliflower for a great vegetable side that has the same texture without all the starch.  These days you can buy pre-bagged cauliflower pearls which make this so easy there is NOT an excuse not to try.If mayonnaise is your thing - try avocado oil mayonnaise.  There are plenty now in the mainstream stores to try.  If you are whipping up your favorite tuna or chicken salad use this and you will be just as happy. If you love cheese on your salad, or sandwich - swap with avocado.  You get the same creamy texture but great healthy fat that is so good for you and will leave you satiated much longer. If you are a cracker dipper - use cut up vegetables instead.  Try red bell pepper, broccoli, sliced cucumber or those radish slices I've already mentioned. If you love your pasta - swap it out with zoodles or spaghetti squash.  Again, these have gone mainstream so you don't even have to whip out that spiralizer you ordered from Amazon.  There are options of already prepared zoodles to make this a breeze. If you have to have cream in your coffee - which I confess I do.  Try coconut or nut milk with your coffee to avoid the dairy.  If that's still not frothy enough for you, then use a coffee frother to whip it around so it's light and to your liking. (See the link in my last post for this!) You can also try adding a little coconut oil with your plant or nut milk and the fat makes it even creamier.See, these swaps really are simple and completely doable.  This might be all it takes for you to change your game.Enjoy Your Day!Marla-Deen Fit, Empowering You To Live A Balanced Healthy Live at Any Age with a focus on fitness and health
