Love to Hate Burpees
The weekend is winding down. How was yours? We had lots of football, some good games, some not so good. It was also full of time with friends, good food and maybe a few drinks. We all overindulge and over celebrate at times, right? It's part of living and enjoying life. Thinking of the too many calories and appetizer "football food" I had on Saturday, brought me to an article I saw recently in Popsugar. The article's spin was looking at foods not based on calorie counts, but based on the amount of burpees it would take to negate some of the foods that had been overindulged in. If you are like me, you just can't help but love to hate burpees. They are an exceptional exercise, when done correctly, for burning some major calories because you basically use your entire body in each rep. It is basically combining a squat, with a thrust, a push up and a squat jump. There is a lot going on there! So if you are attempting to be really efficient with your exercise and burn some major calories or if you are trying to lose weight, then tuck this list in the back of your mind. Also, if you want a little burped primer, or if you think a full fledged burpee is more than you would like to handle, I have included a video going through some great modifications and alternatives to make burpees friendly for everyone. So, if you are thinking about enjoying some of these goodies listed here, also think about the burpees to go along with it!
