Last of the 2017 Reads

I love hearing what folks are reading, wanting to read, loved or even hated reading.  As you know, I'm always on the prowl for something to read.  I typically a book going on my Kindle, one downloaded through Audible.com to listen to, and then some sort of hard copy motivational/self-help/devotion type book on my bedside table.Sometimes it can be a bit of a juggling act!  And usually there isn't enough time in a day to get in the reading I'd like.Anyway, I often enjoy sharing what I've been reading here as it gives me a chance to review AND to share with you all - especially if it was a great one - AND it always sparks some comments her or in the grocery store when I see folks as to what they recommend. Here goes for the last couple of months of 2017 . . . In NO particular order . . .I found myself honestly laughing out loud during this one.  I love anything written by Nora Ephron.  She can make a normal trip to the grocery store into an animated, hysterical event.  And she often says things out loud that we are all secretly thinking.  Want some entertainment?  This is it!I'm not sure how I found this book.  It is the author's debut novel and has several twists and turns.  It isn't your standard suspense novel that you can figure out by the third chapter.  Great job on a first book! And the epilogue . . . Just sayin'Have you read or re-read this one lately?  I'll confess I could not remember who "did it".  I was sparked to re-read it be the recent release of the new version of the movie.  (No, I haven't seen it).  I listened to it but kinda wished I had read it.  Although, it was fun listening to the different characthers' boices and accents!I haven't read anything from John Grisham in years.  However, I had heard that this book was written about our favorite beach town, Fernandina Beach, aka Amelia Island, so I had to give it a try.  This was an easy, entertaining book to listen to. If you haven't read this, you have to go get it.  It is such a lovely read!If you are looking for light-hearted, fun, entertainment I have you covered!  I can't say enough about this trilogy!  Also, if you can, PLEASE listen to these rather than read them.  The inflections, voices and accents MAKE these books!!  I was SOOO sad when I finished them!       The last of the light-hearted ones is perfect for all you crazy fitness fanatics.  Jk?  This is a great satire on some of the crazy fitness trends out there - especially some of the fads from New Your City, although I see them all here in Atlanta, too! *************************************************************************************Now on to the books from my Kindle . . .I chose this book because it was on my son's summer reading list.  I'm a sucker for good historical fiction, too.   Little did I know he only had to read three chapters!  This is long.  Like longer than Gone with the Wind, long.  But good.  Don't expect to breeze through this one!And then She was Gone (Christopher Greyson)This one is a true thriller.  A couple have a new baby, babysitter cancels, so they turn on the baby monitor, go next door, taking turns checking on the baby . . . and you can guess that something happens.  Check it out!http://Stillhouse Lake (Rachel Caine)This book was recommended to me.  It has some history, romance, and good dimensional characters. This one really intrigued me.  A well written, suspenseful story.**********************************************

You have likely heard of this one.  If you haven’t read it maybe you haven’t had the need and that’s a good thing.  But, it is a great read to help learn how to relate to others and life changing situations.Oprah has shared some of her own lessons learned in short, easy to read anecdotes.I've just finished this one.  If you are thinking of creating something new, looking for some inspiration, this book gives some steps, stories and motivation.

What have you all been reading the past few months?  Anything here tempt you?  Here's to another year of great books! Enjoy Your Day!  And. . . GO DAWGS!
