My day with Dtox Organic Juice and a Review
I have been meaning to write this post for a while now, but just haven't been able to actually sit and focus long enough to type it out. However, I'm thinking right after a wonderful Thanksgiving day of eating might actually be the BEST time to share about a day of detoxing with juices from dtox organic juice in Atlanta.I have written here about my food philosophy and how I encourage my clients to "cleanse", meaning eat clean without the sugar, salt, alcohol, processed foods and added junk. I've never been one to tell folks to do a juice cleanse or liquid detox regimen. I know our bodies naturally get rid of the stuff it doesn't need and that relying on liquids for a period of time helps get rid of bloat and fluids, is not a lasting and lifestyle way to shed pounds.Recently, I wanted something to give me just a bit of a health boost. I wanted to feel good and was thinking of a way to have a day of flooding my body with fresh, good stuff that would leave me energized and feeling great.Enter dtox organic juice . . .I decided on a pretty easy and manageable day of juicing with vitamins and nutrients with the dtox 'til dinner cleanse. I popped over to the location on the Westside and chatted with the manager. She made it super easy to choose what fit with my goals, set up up and scheduled it for me to pick it up the day before I wanted to do the cleanse. She even had a reminder set on my phone so I wouldn't forget - that was quite handy! It was perfect for me and my specific goals. I am not one to go all crazy and forego real food for days, so having a regimen of healthy, organic juices and tons of water with a healthy meal thrown in fits perfectly into my day. I don't' want to feel lethargic. I don't want to not be able to exercise some. I don't' want to get hangry and snap off the heads of those living in my home. That's just not healthy.Read the Dtox story and about their family and producersDtox 'til dinner is 4 juices throughout the day. Between juices you are to drink water and at dinner have a clean, preferably raw meal to break the juice. The explanation of the benefits from the website are here:
Just as 98.6 degrees is our optimal temperature, a healthy body should be slightly alkaline, specifically, 7.365 on the pH scale 0 (extremely acidic) to 14 (extremely alkaline). Our Western diet is full of sugar, meat, caffeine, grains and dairy, which is mostly acidic. When food digests, a residue is left behind called ash, and when too much acidic ash accumulates, it damages cells and tissues and robs the body of key minerals such as calcium and potassium. These minerals help keep inflammation in check which is important, as chronic inflamation breeds disease. High acidity directly leads to illnesses such as cancer, heart disease and diabetes.More information on why a cleanse is helpful can be found HERE.
So, here is how my day went:I woke up early and downed a large cup of water that sits by my bed and then had a cup of coffee. I admit that the coffee is probably NOT in the instructions, or optimal, but I've decided that at times, coffee is one of my few vices, and I just have to have it.My first juice was the dtox h20. I sipped on this after teaching a cardio core interval class.
